A Look Inside: Uncovery + Insights

Uncovery + Insights is a process of neutralizing root causes by illuminating the individual and collective strengths, capabilities, motivations and pathways that exist under disorder through targeted intervention. These packages offer the opportunity for you and your team to get to the root of your ‘right now’ needs and obtain holistic and targeted insights that will: kick start your project beyond the idea phase, get your project and people out of a rut, or clear the fog around potential pathways to success - all without engaging in a long procurement process.

Whenever we create a new offering, we work to make it as accessible as possible for launch. This time, we want to go a little deeper and explain how Uncovery + Insights is informed by our Engagement Experience, and how this offering intersects with LAD’s Core Mission and Values.

It starts with a word: Uncovery. For a long time, Uncovery has been an important term and a tenet of all of LAD’s work. So much so that we have our own definition for it, despite its multiple uses and applications.

We often come across clients who are in a loop of reactionary responding - patching holes with band aid solutions that are at the least temporary, and at the worst, disconnected from the deeper issue that needs solving. More often than not, the root cause is one that there never seems to be enough time to figure out, much less address in a meaningful way or one that leaders shy away from, seeing it as too complex. This is where LAD shines. Our goal with Uncovery in any engagement is a foundational one - only after we have unearthed those underlying causes does the work really begin. Leaving the excavation to us, we can identify the long term solutions that will reduce the need for reactionary responding, reduce the occurrence of fires, and bring your organization or team into order.

1. Strategic Directions in Leadership

This concentration allows you to bring into tight focus the core components of a great strategic plan, the leads. There is an assumption that whoever is in charge is automatically equipped to carry out the plan that is developed but just like the organization needs a development plan, so to the leaders in charge of bringing the course change to bear.

Strategic Directions in Leadership is for the leadership team that is interested in establishing a vision of leadership and/or leadership behaviors that are aligned with and able to bring to fruition an already developed or burgeoning strategic plan for a desired future state of the organization.

2. Culture

One of the trendiest topics in society today and one of the hardest components of an organization to work on. Why? Because the organization is made up of people with individual needs, wants and motivations. The community and organization are influenced by both internal and external forces that are not always flowing in the same direction. In this concentration, we focus on identifying the priority areas for remediation, clarifying the direction of change and connecting these to the larger vision of the organization.

3. Teams

Ah, teaming! Regardless of whether you have a team of veteran collaborators or everyone is new to the group, problems can ensue. Our goal is to facilitate the navigation of sore spots in communication, shared visioning, and more to move your team’s focus towards actionable results.
